Ellen Sledge is the founder and owner of Penny Lick Ice Cream Company. An alum of Rutgers University and French Culinary Institute, she always knew she would own her own business. She spent years working the pastry line in some of NYC’s most notable restaurants and managing food events for Princeton University, before taking the entrepreneurial leap with Penny Lick in 2013. Ellen’s a bit of a food science nerd, always taking extra courses or running around her test kitchen. She is also a proud alum of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. In her spare time, she is a guest speaker in high schools and colleges, Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, and corporations. She and her husband are raising their three children in Westchester County, who are quickly eating all her profits.
